About

Y.O.G.A. for Youth is a 501(c)3 non-profit non-denominational organization that is dedicated to providing urban youth with tools of self-discovery that foster hope, discipline and respect for oneself, others and community.

Since it's inception in 1993, Y.O.G.A. for Youth has served over 18,000 youth in Los Angeles county alone. As one of the oldest and most distinguished youth yoga programs in the country, the organization continues to pave the way for under-served youth to practice the ancient art and science of yoga and relaxation response techniques in schools, shelters, community centers, hospitals and detention facilities world-wide.

According to Dr. Sat Bir Singh Khalsa of Harvard University, the Y.O.G.A. for Youth curriculum has shown significant results in just twelve weeks. The unique program continues to draw attention from facilities, scientists and teachers around the globe.

Founded by one of the top 25 yogis in the world, master teacher trainer and president of the International Association for Black Yoga Teachers, Krishna Kaur, Y.O.G.A. for Youth is unparalleled in its efforts to rehabilitate incarcerated and traumatized youth.

Y.O.G.A. for Youth is headquartered in Los Angeles, California with satellites in New York, North Carolina, and Mexico City. With teacher trainings currently underway in six countries, the organization is poised for expansion, promising a better future to more and more children every year.
