Yoga found me in 2002, and helped me drop 60 pounds and help with depression and anxiety. After my father passed unexpectedly of a heart attack on 9/6/01, and the tragic events of 9/11/01, I was confused and suffered from PTSD.   My friend suggested a yoga studio close to where I was living on Long Island.  It was owned by a fireman who answered the call on 9/11.  He told me that he used his yoga to get him through what he saw.  I heard his story and believed there was something in it to help me.  There was, and always will be, which is why I have chosen this path to share.

The path of bringing Yoga to beginners and beyond
As my yoga practice grew, my friend encouraged me to do Yoga Teacher Training. The decision changed my life forever.  In August of 2015, I opened Yoga Moves You(Matthews), and in January of 2017, Yoga Moves You(Steele Creek).  I founded Yoga Moves You to help patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Anxiety, and other pain-related conditions. I was fortunate enough to work for a Rheumatologist, helping patients from his practice.  Yoga is great for everyone, and not just about doing handstands.  I seek to spread that message and give this gift to the people who may need it the most.  I teach some students privately who are referred by their doctors, and medical professionals.  It is a great experience to share yoga with the people who are not comfortable or ready to go into a group class.
