About

GRIEFWRITING is a frank and honest novel about caregiving, bereavement, and the redefinition of the self after loss. Set on an urban college campus, its characters come together in a therapeutic writing course, which promotes their healing and offers opportunities for renewal and even love. Its protagonist, a recently retired professor of English who has been a caregiver for her spouse for twelve years, is teaching this course in an effort to promote her own healing. She soon discovers, however, that it yields other benefits, including a  romance with her one-time arch enemy that is loosely based on the relationship between Elizabeth Bennet and Darcy in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. The novel follows the stories of the other members of this class as well, as they struggle to find solace and rebuild their lives.
