Glendale, Arizona Woman Declared Dead by the State & Chase Bank Fights Back — and Builds a Recovery Brand to Help Survivors Rise

✍???? Written by Kami Denell Wilson | Glendale, Arizona

Glendale, AZ — At 9 years old, Kami Denell Wilson took her first drink. By 12, she was drinking regularly. For 30 years, alcohol had her in a chokehold — but her story isn’t just about addiction, homelessness and prison. It’s about being declared dead by the state of Arizona, erased from government systems, and still finding the fight to rebuild and help others do the same.

“I’ve been declared dead, had my bank accounts shut down, and been erased from government records — but I’m still here,” Wilson says. “And I’m building something bigger than myself to help survivors rise.”

From Digital Erasure to Digital Empowerment

In 2020, someone falsely reported Wilson as deceased. Chase Bank shut down her merchant account, sparking a chain reaction: court access revoked, banking blocked, even the DMV claimed she didn’t exist. Known as digital suppression, it’s a growing threat — especially for women who speak out.

Wilson left the state to rebuild, but new bank accounts were shut down without warning. “My money was seized, and no one could explain why,” she says. “I came back to Arizona to fix it — and years later, the damage is still here.”

Faith, Trauma, and a Relentless Comeback

In 2018, she lost her partner to suicide. In 2020, she was trafficked and held hostage for three days. “I made it out alive — but I’ve never been the same,” she says.

Her turning point came in 2022 after two years of prayer. “I woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and told myself, ‘Let’s go.’ I drove to detox, and the next day, I had zero cravings. That kind of peace? Only Yahuah,” Wilson says.

Introduced to the faith of Yahuah by her brother-in-law David, she rebuilt her life with a new focus: creation, faith, and advocacy.

The Bean Grind: Merch With a Mission

Wilson now runs The Bean Grind, an online store turning recovery and resilience into statement merchandise. Her designs mix humor, hard truths, and messages for survivors. Every mug, shirt, and digital download tells a story — and every sale fuels her mission to help people who’ve been silenced or erased.

“I’m not here to tell people how to go viral,” Wilson says. “I’m showing them how to build a brand that stands for something — even when the world tries to erase you.”

A Call to Survivors and Supporters

If you’ve been erased, abused, overlooked, or underestimated, Wilson says, “You’re my people. Let’s rise together.”
