Linda Calvert Jacobson
American, b. 1957
Linda Calvert Jacobson grew up south of San Antonio where Texas wildflowers bloom profusely in the spring. This is the core inspiration for her contemporary wildflower art series. The impressionistic and mildly abstract tangent that Jacobson takes in her contemporary wildflowers art series of paintings allows ample room for your imagination to take off and for all your senses to be involved with this vision before you.
As her interpretive, expressive and colorful wildflowers proved to be popular with a broad range of collectors, Jacobson began to offer images from the series as designs for licensing and quickly found that the wildflowers transcend geographic boundaries, appealing to art and nature lovers on an international level as was evident by the response received at annual International Licensing Expos in New York City where she exhibits her wildflower artwork to potential licensees. Today, Jacobson's contemporary wildflowers are licensed for a series of limited-edition, artists-inspired watches that are exclusively available in the UK and Germany. They are also featured on a line of greeting cards in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. She continues to negotiate and is open to discussing additional licensing opportunities. Jacobson is represented by two artist's agents, one in the UK and one in the US.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Linda Calvert Jacobson original wildflower paintings are in private collections in numerous states in the U.S. and several countries around the world. Jacobson's original paintings are frequently displayed at the renowned Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas, and at galleries in Texas and Florida. She also exhibits her wildflowers at her own gallery, Casa de Linda Art Studio and Gallery, in historic downtown New Braunfels, Texas.
