Mackinac Island is a National Historic Landmark located between Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas whose primary industry is tourism.  The Island banned cars ten decades ago and relies on over 600 horses to provide transportation around the Island. The Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau is the primary marketing organization for the Island.
