Parsina Press was started by longtime science fiction and fantasy author Stephen Goldin as an independent publishing house for his backlist titles that no longer fit into the increasingly narrow niches of traditional publishers. The increasing markets for ebooks and print-on-demand publishing have made it possible for authors who are not "bestsellers" in the traditional sense to find appreciative audiences beyond the scope of the large publishing houses, whose equally large overheads limited the sorts of books they could profitably publish. Parsina Press and other "indie" publishers can give voice to authors who could not have been heard under the old publishing paradigms.
