About

Regal House Publishing was founded in 2014 by Jaynie Royal after years of navigating the torturous route of traditional publishing, arriving at the conclusion that publishing, generally speaking, did not have to be inherently difficult for the author. She founded Regal House determined to establish a publishing house that served as a true partner to the writers under its roof, one that sought to empower and support its authors. Regal House's mandate is to seek, support, encourage, and disseminate literary talent that might otherwise remain unread for lack of publishing opportunity. Through our imprint Fitzroy Books, we publish middle grade and young adult fiction. Our House of Kel imprint publishes sci-fi and fantasy, while Pact Press, our social impact imprint, publishes works that promote diversity, inclusion, and acceptance. Regal House Publishing is a women-owned publisher that is distributed by Independent Publishers Group, with all titles printed in the US.

Regal House’s imperative is to support and sustain the literary efforts of our authors. With this in mind we take on a limited number of new authors a year, and are always interested in discovering new talent within the genres of literary fiction, contemporary fiction, historical fiction, memoirs, poetry collections, and short story collections. Authors do not want to be isolated in their efforts; they want an alliance with a House, who is prepared to labor with similar love and devotion over their literary works, and the resources and support of an extended Regal Author Community. Authors also appreciate transparency to the publishing process – one that is often rendered opaque by those in the industry. Unlike many publishing houses we accept manuscripts directly from the authors, without requiring an intervening literary agent. We believe not only in maintaining a degree of accessibility and open lines of communication between our staff editors and our authors, but we also desire to maximize the royalties received by our authors.
