Scott Burton is a poet, author, and creator whose work lives at the intersection of emotional honesty, lived experience, and creative resilience. Known for his confessional free verse style and raw, introspective voice, Scott’s writing spans multiple projects, themes, and formats—each rooted in the desire to turn survival into something beautiful and honest.
He is best known as the author of The Chaos Series, a ten-volume poetry collection that chronicles the messy, tender, and often unspoken parts of being human. But his creative reach goes far beyond a single series. Through micro poems, poetic prose, long-form reflections, slam-inspired pieces, and emotionally driven manuscripts, Scott’s work gives language to what so many feel but struggle to say.
What sets Scott apart is not just the vulnerability in his words—but the story behind them.
Since birth, Scott has lived with end-stage kidney disease, spending years on dialysis while navigating the emotional, physical, and mental toll that comes with waiting for a second chance at life. In May 2022, he received that second chance: a kidney transplant that changed everything—but also brought new emotional terrain to process. Much of his writing since then has explored this layered journey: not just illness and recovery, but the strange quiet that comes with healing, the grief of time lost, and the question of who you are when the fight is finally over.
That depth of experience shows up everywhere in his work. Whether he’s writing about lost love, the ache of memory, the fear of being forgotten, or the slow, uncertain climb toward hope—Scott’s voice remains consistent: clear, raw, and unafraid.
In addition to The Chaos Series, Scott has authored:
Forever is Tomorrow – a standalone poetic journal that reflects on life before and after transplant, filled with fragments of grief, hope, and brutal clarity.
He also has several manuscripts in various stages of completion with plans to release additional books into 2026, following the Chaos Series releases.
Scott’s style is marked by short lines, repetition, metaphor, and a rhythmic, emotionally immersive flow. He frequently blends poetry and memoir, weaving together narrative and verse to create pieces that feel more like confessions or journal entries than traditional poetry. Many of his pieces are untitled, raw, and deliberately unpolished—an intentional choice that mirrors the chaotic and unfiltered nature of real emotion.
Scott is also a passionate advocate for kidney disease awareness, organ donation, and emotional health. He’s worked closely with transplant programs to create social media campaigns, educational toolkits, and patient engagement materials that go beyond statistics—telling real stories, building community, and encouraging others not to give up. His experience has also made him a voice for those who live in the in-between: waiting for answers, navigating complex emotions, and trying to stay soft in a world that often demands otherwise.
Whether through books, posts, or spoken word, his mission is simple: to make people feel less alone.
Scott’s work has resonated deeply with those navigating grief, illness, heartbreak, self-discovery, or simply the overwhelming experience of being human. His readers often describe his poems as “exactly what I needed but didn’t know how to say”—a testament to the emotional clarity and resonance his work offers.
With thousands of poems, a growing social following (@ks.bleeds.ink), and more projects in progress—including a full archive-based manuscript of real messages, a tarot and dream interpretation series, and live performance pieces—Scott continues to write from a place of truth, reflection, and quiet endurance.
He writes for the people who stay up late wondering if they’re too much or not enough.
For the ones who have held on too long, and for the ones who had to let go.
For anyone who has lived through pain, and still chooses to feel.
