About

From the opening of our first Hallowell Center in Sudbury, MA in 1996, we’ve had a mission. That mission is to help people lead happier, more productive lives, regardless of their limitations. At the Hallowell Centers, we employ a “strength-based” approach to treating ADHD and other cognitive and emotional conditions. The strength-based model emphasizes first and foremost the search for what is good and strong and healthy in a person, then secondarily what is in need of remediation. Rather than treating your condition as a “pathology,” as happens in many clinical settings, we instead view it as a “gift” that can be “unwrapped” with the help of a customized treatment plan, leveraging all the best practices in the field today.

At the Hallowell Centers, we take a 360-degree approach to the diagnosis and treatment of each problem, beginning with a detailed analysis of the symptoms presented. Our team of experts then develops a comprehensive, customized treatment plan that may include recommendations for lifestyle changes, environmental modifications, stimulant (or other) medication, counseling, individual or group therapy, and coaching. In some cases, complementary therapies such as Low Energy Neurofeedback, or a program of physical exercises for the brain, may also be suggested.
