UNCF/NAC San Diego Inter Alumni Council (SDIAC)

~Officer and Member Recruitment Announcement~

Two years after the United Negro College Fund was incorporated, James E. Stamps, a Fisk University alumnus, founded the National Alumni Council (NAC) in 1946.  His purpose was to establish a national alumni organization to serve the needs of private historically black colleges and universities in partnership with UNCF.  All graduates of UNCF schools are automatically members of the National Alumni Council. The San Diego Inter Alumni Council was installed as a chapter on October 2, 2010.
At this time, we are calling upon our UNCF supports to spread the word about the new SDIAC.  As the newly established chapter joining the ranks of countless other Alumni Councils across the United States, we must continue to seek new members to become a part of the historic UNCF organization.  Leadership positions create opportunities for individuals to express their passion for minority higher education by using non-profit organizational skills.  The SDIAC has opportunities for leaders to serve in current vacant officer board seats for 2011, as committee chairs, committee members, and in the capacity of event volunteers.  Supports and HBCU alumni who are looking to network while experiencing career challenges during a challenging economy, are encouraged to join SDIAC and connect with individuals who share the same passion for extracurricular activities and similar career goals.  Our professionally experienced and accomplished officers and Directors can support a member’s visibility with contacts of sponsors and corporations who support non-profits, higher education initiatives, and minority businesses.  There are on-going opportunities to develop skills in organizational leadership, communications, public relations, non-profit budget management, social networking/marketing, and project coordinating which are attractive transferable assets for resumes and career growth for SDIAC members.
