We also host visits from people or enterprises from all over the world who come to find out about the running of a successful social enterprise and about computer recycling.  Many go on to start a similar enterprise in their own area or country. Here's just a few that came recently:

REBOOT in Inverness, Scotland came down and stayed overnight at the Tulip Inn at the Escape in Pontefract. They learned all about computer recycling.  The following day they visited our Wakefield shop to learn more about retailing their refurbished computers.

A contingent came from SLATE in Leeds as research into setting up a refurbishing operation under their current social enterprise.

Emrys Hughes on a research mission from Wales.

Pete Lovering from RYEcycle in Pickering in East Yorkshire.

Ernie Nolan from Segedunum Computers in Newcastle are forming a social enterprise computer recycling section called Acorn Computers.

Vuli from Zimbabwe came to learn how to refurbish computers to send home to his local schools.

Furniture Matters in Morcambe sent a couple of guys to check out our operation.

And of course the more local visits from interested partys such as Holly, who is a teacher at Wakefield college and takes a group of their students out on visits to interesting places.

OWEN PATTERSON MP VISITS AIREDALE
The MP for North Shropshire and Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland paid a visit to our facility in Castleford in February. He was most interested in the social enterprise and how it helps the economy of the local community.

All you rugby fans make a point of checking out our advert in the Tigers Match Programme. It will be there all season after we donated a brand new laptop into their new community training facility.

We like to help GOOD CAUSES and wherever we can we'll donate refurbished computers to anything LOCAL that involves communities and kids. Here's just a few:

SWAN RESUE HOSPITAL
The guys that run the Yorkshire Swan Rescue Hospital came to us for a computer to help with their increased workload. We didn't duck this request.

MAJORETTES
Castleford & Normanton Majorettes were the recipients of some IT equipment to help show off their major talent.

SEA CADETS
Wakefield Sea Cadets have been running for 62 years and we just got around to shipping them several computers to help keep their shipmates shipshape.

AIR AMBULANCE
When the premises for the Yorkshire Air Ambulances were broken into, they had their laptop computer stolen. We didn't hover on the fence, we pitched in to help.

MOTOR HOME CONVOY
30+ motor home owners gave up their summer holidays to take collected goods to 3 childrens homes in Croatia. We sent several computers.

We do it because we can.
