Founded in 1916, The Arts Club of Washington is the most historic nonprofit arts organization in the nation's capital. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The Arts Club is committed to elevating all forms of artistic expression, facilitating cultural conversations, and preserving the unique history of its permanent collection and historic buildings.

Through exhibitions, performances, literary programs, concerts, lectures, conversations, and special events—including numerous programs offered free and open to the public—The Arts Club welcomes a diverse public audience into an environment where artists, audiences, ideas, and communities come together.

The Arts Club is headquartered in the historic Monroe House, former home of President James Monroe, at 2017 I Street NW in Washington, D.C. For more than a century, The Arts Club has promoted and celebrated the visual, performing, and literary arts while preserving an important piece of the nation's cultural and architectural heritage.
