ABOUT THE DICK WAGNER "REMEMBER THE CHILD" MEMORIAL FUND
• We create music therapy programs for hospitalized children. We provide funding to hire Board Certified music therapists.
A Board Certified music therapist is a degreed and certified professional who has been cross-trained not only in musical performance, music education, but also in anatomy and physiology and working in the clinical aseptic environment,
• We supply each hospital with a broad variety of musical instruments (guitars, violins, percussion, and keyboards.) Upon request, children are allowed to take instruments home when released from the hospital. We replenish musical instruments on a continuing basis.
• The benefits of music therapy are both emotional and physical – demonstrating improved respiratory, motor skills, decreased pain perception, blood pressure, heart rate, and more.
• Tax deductible: The Dick Wagner "Remember the Child" Memorial Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit. EIN 47-2279119.

ABOUT MUSIC THERAPY:
The research on Music Therapy is exciting! Music therapy supports the physical, emotional, social and cognitive well-being of children. Singing and playing music enhances mood, emotional expression, improves functional and cognitive motor skills, and motivates children to grasp, reach, walk, or stand. Clinical studies reveal the physical benefits of improved respiration, decreased pain perception (and reduced need for pain medications), stress relief, lowered blood pressure, improved cardiac output and reduced heart rate.
