About

Dream Big! was founded in Jan 2010 in Newton, Massachusetts to help low-income and homeless girls overcome financial barriers that prevent them from participating in sports and physical activities.  Our programs serve the needs of girls from economically disadvantaged communities in elementary, middle, and high school in Massachusetts, with an emphasis in Greater Boston.

The Mission of Dream Big! is to help low-income and homeless girls achieve their dreams by providing the basic items necessary to enable them to participate in sports and physical activities helping to lay the foundation for healthy, active lifestyles and quality learning experiences.

Dream Big! partners with organizations, schools and community health centers to identify and fulfill the sport & fitness equipment, footwear, uniforms, sports attire, training opportunities and program fee needs of girls, and the programs that serve them, from economically disadvantaged communities, in elementary, junior high and high school in order to help them engage in sports and physical activities that help them develop the self-confidence and skills needed to be more successful in school and life.

Dream Big! has Three Primary Goals:

Ensure that all girls, regardless of socio-economic background, have the equipment, athletic footwear, uniforms, program fees, training opportunities and supplies that they need to participate in sports and physical activities that contribute to their overall health, fitness, and well-being.

Combat the risk of obesity-related medical issues by promoting healthy, active lifestyles for young girls and teens.

Create opportunities for girls to develop social connections with peers and mentors; maintain healthy, active lives; assume leadership roles; and grow physically, emotionally, and socially through sports, physical activities and the Dream Big! Leadership Conference.
