iCodeJr Academy is a UAE-based coding, robotics and AI academy for children and teens aged 6 to 18. Founded in 2022 and licensed by the Department of Knowledge, Government of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK DOK), iCodeJr has taught more than 5,000 students through online classes, holiday camps and school programmes.
Coding classes for kids
iCodeJr's coding classes for kids follow a structured learning path that changes with each age group. Younger learners start with ScratchJr and Scratch coding, then move on to game design, MIT App Inventor app building, Minecraft Education and Roblox. Older students learn Python for kids and teens, including object-oriented programming, Tkinter and Pygame, building real projects they can show and share.
Robotics for kids
iCodeJr's robotics classes for kids are designed for ages 7 to 16 and cover Arduino, electronics and AI-driven builds. Robotics kits are shipped to the student's home and every lesson is taught live online by an instructor, so children get hands-on robotics without travelling to a centre.
AI for kids
Artificial intelligence is built into every learning path. Students learn how AI models work and how to use generative AI creatively and responsibly, alongside their coding and robotics projects.
How classes work
- Live online coding and robotics classes, taught mostly one-to-one, with small groups of up to four students
- Lessons available in English and Arabic
- Progress checkpoints every fifth session and parent-teacher meetings every twelve sessions
- Typically two sessions per week, with learning paths that can change as a child discovers new interests
Results
iCodeJr students have won recognition at a NASA space challenge and the University of Wollongong Robotics Challenge.
For schools
iCodeJr also partners with schools across the UAE on coding, robotics and AI programmes and inter-school coding competitions.
