LFrQx Releases Debut Album Fallin’ Trees (October 23, 2025)
LFrQx, short for Low Frequencies, announces the release of its debut album Fallin’ Trees, available worldwide on October 23, 2025 on Spotify and all major streaming platforms. The six-track album blends electro rock, downtempo, and triphop, offering a deeply atmospheric and emotional listening experience.
Rooted in diverse musical backgrounds — from indie rock and synth pop to heavy metal — LFrQx was formed by a group of musicians who found common ground in their fascination with electronic textures and cinematic grooves. The band is fronted by Mara and Bas, who first collaborated in 2001 before losing touch for two decades. Their reunion, together with guitarist Andre, sparked a creative explosion that resulted in Fallin’ Trees.
A Conceptual Journey
Fallin’ Trees is not just a collection of songs, but a continuous sonic journey. Each track flows into the next, forming a cohesive narrative about solitude, the beautiful ugliness of reality, and the state of being in motion. From the pulsing opener “Spaceman” to the introspective “Last Night”, the album captures the tension between connection and isolation in a modern, over-perfect world.
Tracks such as “Smooth” and “Valley of the Mind” create brooding, cinematic moods that pull the listener inward, while “Plastic” — co-written with Dietz — stands out with its reflective tone and lyrical edge.
All songs were written by Van der Krogt / Wolf / Horst, except Plastic (Krogt / Wolf / Dietz). The album artwork and photography were created by Ruben Verheul, adding a visual layer that complements the music’s emotional depth.
Live Expansion
On stage, LFrQx expands into a full-band experience featuring drummer Emiel and keyboardist Wim, bringing the lush, layered studio sound to life. Their performances are immersive, combining organic energy with dark, electronic atmospheres.
Themes
Thematically, Fallin’ Trees explores:
Solitude — not as sadness, but as a mirror; a space for reflection and rediscovery.
The beautiful ugliness of reality — embracing imperfection in a world obsessed with artificial perfection.
The journey — the sense that we’re all “on the road,” learning about ourselves and each other along the way.
