The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Challenges the Metro DC Corporate Community to Join in their Pursuit to End Cystic Fibrosis (CF) through the 9th Annual Metro DC CF Cycle for Life Corporate Challenge.
Goal set to raise $100K in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s mission
[AUGUST 16, 2019 | BETHESDA, MD] – The Metro DC Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will host its 9th Annual CF Cycle for Life as part of one of the largest national events to raise funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis, a rare, genetic disease that progressively limits the ability to breathe and ultimately causes premature death. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is challenging the Metro DC corporate community to participate and compete for the most miles ridden by one team in support of their mission. The ride will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Virginia Village, Leesburg, VA.

“Together with our community we are transforming cystic fibrosis from a deadly childhood disease to the best story in medicine,” said Brigitte Keen/Metro DC Chapter. She went on to say, “When the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was first founded, children with CF typically did not live long enough to attend elementary school. Today, people with CF are achieving milestones like going to college and starting families of their own. We are making incredible progress, but we can’t do it alone. We invite everyone in the Metro DC area to help us make ‘CF’ stand for ‘Cure Found.”

In 2018, the Foundation spent an estimated $188 million to uncover new treatments for CF and to support the delivery of high-quality, specialized care for people with the disease—the most in the organization’s history. This year, the Foundation hopes to raise $4 million through CF Cycle for Life to help advance its mission to find a cure and empower all people with CF to live full, productive lives.
