About

Jewelry designer and fabricator based in Los Angeles.  I make unique, custom jewelry by hand using metalsmithing techniques.  Each piece is one-of-a-kind and composed of sterling silver, gold and semi-precious gemstones and beads.  I also crochet with sterling silver wire to create pieces reminiscent of fabric art.

Having worked for years in a museum environment I am inspired by Greek, Roman, Medieval and Renaissance motifs and designs.  I'm also inspired by more contemporary influences such as art deco, geometric shapes and classic car hood ornaments.

My jewelry has an artisanal feel to it in that every item is meticulously hand crafted with attention to detail -- nothing is mass produced. Additionally, I use quality materials and know my gemstone and metals sources.

I named my company for my grandmother, Minabea, who encouraged my artistic development and sense of humor.  Pronounced (my-na-bee).
