Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Seattle, Washington, Sahar Education is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for women and girls in Afghanistan. Working alongside grassroots partners and local communities, Sahar supports education, leadership development, career readiness, and community-based initiatives that empower women and girls to shape their own futures.

For more than two decades, Sahar Education has partnered with communities to build, repair, and equip 39 schools, creating educational opportunities for more than 250,000 students. Today, Sahar continues to adapt its programs to meet evolving needs while fostering resilience, independence, and hope through education. In addition to its educational initiatives, Sahar Education engages supporters through community events, cultural experiences, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising efforts that bring people together in support of women and girls in Afghanistan. By connecting communities through shared purpose, Sahar hopes to create lasting opportunities for individuals, families, and future generations.
