First B&N Review: An Awesome Debut! Reader Rating See Detailed Ratings

Posted August 18, 2010, 2:11 PM EST: Shameless is a one of a kind read. The characters are very believable. The MC is someone anyone can relate to, whether you love or hate her, you will find yourself rooting for her until the end. Chance has a writing style that speaks of years of writing although this is her first novel. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to be entertained and also learn lessons about love. I can't wait until the sequel is released. I just have to see what awaits Rain now!

A beautiful story of hope set amongst very harsh circumstances. Your characters are well developed and make an impression. The relationship between Rain and her father and also grandfather was well described. Lorraine is portrayed excellantly as the monster of a person she is.
Backed earlier and I'm glad to read more and comment.
Rakhi (Sir William...)

This is a strong, beautiful story set to a backdrop of a harsh life. You carry us through the tragedies of Rain's life with ease, allowing us to share in her sorrow and hardship.

Beautiful work that I have backed with pleasure.

Really dramatic, hard-hitting narrative you've got here. Easy to back.

The Job

I like your use of the first person narrative - it is insightful and keeps what you have posted so far flowing well. Your story is is thought provoking and insightfull and gives an a rational as to why the same mistakes are made over and over again. Backed with pleasure.

Fabulous! I had heard that it would be worth it to read it, but being the first novel by a new author, I was skeptical. After reading it, I will be speading the word.... Simply wonderful. After reading the first chapter, I had to read the whole book and it was worth every penny! I can not wait until the sequel is released!!!!

Chance, I can see this doing well with the Chick Lit crowd. Both your style and your story are endearing. The story has substance to it; something I've found missing in most of what I've read of this genre. I saw a few of the usual punctuation nits here and there, and the use of "that" in places where it wasn't necessary. But, other than that, I think you've got something here. Best of luck. Backed.

I'm reading your prologue, will comment as I go...

It starts with a very cute, almost innocent voice. I immediately like your MC and your way of describing the world around her.

You've drawn me back into the 80's- rainbow bright, strawberry shortcake, smurfs...ahh, the simple life

wow, you portrayed the scene of Daddy leaving very well from the perspective of a little girl. How sad. I can just picture her there, on the porch, watching her daddy drive away and listening to the poisonous words of her mother.

I'm curious where the story will go from here, will keep reading.

Shelved!, and best of luck to you

I can only comment as a reader....

I really enjoyed this read. I have a soft spot for good characterisation and how a characters psyche can be formed by the n
