The Texas Pit is 29.5 acres but fishes much larger with deep water, shore line and small boat access. This lake is a fisherman’s dream and is considered one of the top private fishing “holes” in Texas. It has depths up to 90 feet with trees, rocks and cliffs throughout. This lake has been stocked with bass and catfish from the National Fish Hatchery starting 45 years ago. The largest bass caught to date is 13.5 lbs. This lake consistently produces 5 to 10 catches within a few hours. Most outings of about an hour have produced multiple 3+ lb bass for over 35 years.
