The 809 International Art Village was first batch of the military-industrial base factory buildings in Western area of China inland. The factories are built in the mid-1950s, and that factories were closed in the 1980s by government.
The total area of 550-acre site, divided into four more on the production and living areas, road traffic and motorcycle facilities integrity, unity, water, electricity, communications and other conditions in place. Which fosters the development of the international contemporary arts in China through exhibitions, lectures, festivals, international artist residency programs, and also through sustained partnerships with other arts organizations to enhance international art exchange and promote understanding between different cultures around the world.
